Hey All,
DePaul will be hosting a Hat Tournament on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 in beautiful Chicago.
Venue:
Ray Meyer Fitness & Recreation Center
2235 N. Sheffield Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614
Located on DePaul's Lincoln Park Campus
Courts have already been reserved!
Gameplay Format:
- Exhibition matches between teams could be arranged in between tournament matches. Alternatively, a free-for-all skills competition could be arranged if the people want it more than exhibitions.
- Two 20-25 Minute halves per match, DePaul Rules. Mainly, catches do not result in an out for the thrower, unless the catcher's team jail is empty.
Teams Committed:
DePaul - Chicago
WIU - Macomb
UK - Lexington
MSU - Lansing
UWM - Madison
Magoo and Co.
Teams Excited:
Moody Bible Institute - Chicago
KSU - Kent
UWP - Platteville
Teams Invited:
Bomis, NCDA Commissioner.
We are still looking for teams and people to come out and play... Yet we do have quite a few thus far.

Other Information:
- As this is a hat tournament, we are opening entry to any veterans who are still itching to play dodgeball.
- Tournament fees will be negligible, and likely non existent. As long as our club makes a reservation months ahead, DePaul allows us to make the reservation at no cost. We want visitors to have some fun while they're here.
- Hotel: We need to see who and how many are coming, in order to look into a hotel group discount There is plenty of available lodging in the area.
- Parking: Street parking bordering any part of DePaul's campus is non permit, other parts are either metered or labeled as permit. There is also a parking garage down the street.
- If no one really wants to play a hat tournament, the experience will degrade into your basic NCDA tournament and I will personally be very disappointed.
EDIT: Also, I just noticed this thread might be better placed in the Scheduling section. But the description should include tournaments as well as matches. Specially since there are at least 3-4 tournaments going on at the start of the season and like one match scheduled... But just a structural opinion. Anyways, my bad

Gameplay Format:
- A double elimination tournament.
- Teams are decided in a random fashion; each player's name is put on a slip of paper and that paper is put in a hat. Team members are then chosen randomly out of that very hat.
- Teams nominate a Captain within their team members, mainly to organize the team for their matches.
- Exhibition matches between teams could be arranged in between tournament matches. Alternatively, a free-for-all skills competition could be arranged if the people want it more than exhibitions.
