2012-13 NCDA Schedule

The NCDA schedules its games in traditional playground style fashion, mostly as pickup games of dodgeball matches between schools.

In recent years, the League has expanded in number of teams and started to include more multi-team events, tournaments, and round robins in its regular season schedule. This is a change over the traditional 1 on 1 local team match up, which is still prevalent in the NCDA season.

The 2013 Michigan Dodgeball Cup will most likely be in February, have to wait until the winter semester/basketball schedule to come out before we can pick an exact date.

Our match with VCU was yesterday, we had a lot of fun. We played a half, and then had some fun runs with Medic.

Tell you what, these guys are pretty good.

They had a couple good arms that complimented a set of very good dodgers and catchers. If they had a set of 15 guys on the court, they would definitely be able to put up points. They know how to throw together, and use distractions to pick off someone.

Definitely look forward to playing these guys next year, especially when they have a full roster.

It was a lot of fun and now I understand why JMU was so good to begin with. It was a learning experience, we couldn't get the majority of our vertans out there to play with... so the majority of the team you saw yesterday was freshman with a few upperclassmen. We will be better prepared next year now since we know what we are up against.

If there are any round robins teams are hosting, JMU is definitely interested in adding 1 or 2 to our schedule.

If you're interested, we're going to host the 2012 MSU Invite (MSU and 5 other out of state schools) sometime in November. We're shooting for a Saturday so we're able to get some further away schools and due to our football schedule we're looking at either October 27th or November 10th as our hosting dates.

UK is already hosting their tournament November 10th, so I'd prefer to get the date in October, but I'm not gonna know for sure until the first week of fall semester. I know its a bit of a haul for you guys to make it to East Lansing, but we'd place you in the opposite group from us and make sure you get some teams you've never played before.

Hey Chris. If we can't get 8 teams to show up in march for the Richmond Dodgeball Cup for a tournament, it can easily become a round robin. University of Maryland is going, Towson University should be able to come, Kent State is interested, and from what I heard RIT is interested too. So just need a few more schools before I let CBS 6 and the local news station know about this.

The schedule has been updated as best I can gather. Please, please help me out and remember to post up your new matches here, or in your schedule/event threads. I'll edit as best I can.

Fun stats:
Based on the schedule as of 28 Aug:
23-26 events will be held,

Anyone want to bet on how many games we get this season?
I'm betting we'll have 108 matches played before Nationals, and 38 matches played at Nationals.

Zig, for the MSU Invitational, I believe JMU had to drop out so CMU is taking their spot as the 6th team.

Also I'll say 112 matches before nationals, for nutss and giggles ;D

I created a google drive spreadsheet for the 2013 Season, continuing on the trend of keeping accurate records. So please, please submit your game results, either on the twitter, league email, or here.

Also, Sam and I have included the Records & Standings on the site.

Oh and Sam if you want to give me your email, I can add you to the gdrive spreadsheet so you can edit it if I don't get to it over a game weekend.

To add to the schedule MSU possibly will go to GVSU on December 2nd (still need to see if they can get the court time) and MSU will host a tournament at Aim High (same place as the 2010 MSU Invite) that will be either MSU, SVSU, GVSU, UK, and WKU or MSU, SVSU, GVSU, and their respective JV teams.
