We would love to make a tournament. Do you have any idea as to when it would be? And it was never anyone on UK's team that said we had a "Michigan Grade Arm!" haha

Haha, I know no one on your team said it, but from what we hear you guys are pretty good. So we are excited to play you guys. But I am not sure on when the tournament is or if we will be able to have one. Our facility is under construction right now. They are redoing the main gym for the varsity sports and they are redoing 2 courts in the public facility. So we have to wait for those to be done pretty much. We will give out more information as we get it.

MSU would probably be down for the Kentucky Invitational. We also want to attend the DePaul Open tourney or the WIU Tourney. We'll know which one when they announce dates since I'm sure one of them will fall on the same date at the MDC (we're shooting for Saturday, Feb 12 on that).

I'll get more info out on the Kentucky Invitational tomorrow night. I have had some people contact us via emails and calls also so I'll put everything when I organize it all. We are looking at the last weekend of January right now.

Alright, for the Kentucky Invitational here are the teams who were invited earlier in the year or expressed interest in it. WKU. MSU. GVSU. OSU. SVSU. CMU. Kent State. The tournament is as of right now planning on being six teams on January 29th. Guaranteed 3 games. Similar to the MSU Invitational rules on Pool Play.
Here is also an updated schedule for what UK wants for the rest of the year. October 30th-Miami of Ohio (We want 1 more team to join) November 13th-MSU Invitational (3 matches) December 5th-WKU@WKU January 15th-Chicago Dodgeball Tournamet? January 22nd-Kentucky Invitational (4 matches) February 12th-Nebraska @ Nebraska February 24th-WKU @ Neutral Site March 12th-Nebraska @ UK (open to more teams) March 26th-BGSU-Home (Open for 1) April 9th-Nationals @ WKU
All of the open dates are...open! We want to play people! If you want us to travel there let us know. We want to play at least two matches whenever possible. Ex. So if we travel to CMU to play, we also want MSU to be there so all teams get two matches. Same goes for home matches, we want two teams here for home matches.
If we really want to get this league cranking te best way is as many matches as possible! Hope to play/see you all play soon!

If you are wanting to come to play in the Kentucky Invitational this year let me know. I am reserving gym space and that will determine whether I book for 6 or 8 teams.
Also we are wanting to fill the last few slots on our schedule...if you want it let me know.

since western hasn't really said anything about their tournament I think i'm going to plan on doing da CDO on Jan 15.
Unless tragedy strikes and nobody wants to come to Chicago on that date, maybe DePaul can work at coming down for your Kentucky Invite if you need a filler team. At this point in the year, I'm not quite sure if our team can afford two trips to Kentucky this season, so we're maybes on that front.
Or maybe its just difficult to plan when nobody wants to plan ahead that far and name a date. Aside from you guys. you have said your dates and that makes it a little easier to schedule.

I understand. If you all want to commit to the Kentucky Invitational thats great. We would love to have you. We are going to have 6 or 8 teams and it's really up to who wants to come that determines it.
And I have found that it is easier to schedule and pay for your matches if you set it up in advance and say it's going to cost us $5,000 to run our team this year. Administration likes to see that as well if you have everything organized and set out. Then apply for funding and sell merchandise and all that good fun stuff. That's why I want to schedule games in advance.

Ya, I'm a rep on the group funding board at DePaul and requesting works very similar; they like full schedules.
I talked with some of DePaul Dodgeball about it, a few were kind of interested, so its enough for me to say we're looking to come to Lexington and do our thing. And DePaul still likes to think that the NCDA is a "glorified beer league" as Bomis has put it. We are going to play the way we want to play, but at the same time we don't want to intentionally screw up the bracket of some hardcore tournament you guys are going to try to put on. Unless its nationals, cause that's a different situation. A tangent...
I'm going to do some numbers and make sure we have enough for Nationals and UK, and submit a funding request on Nov 8th. Hmm, maybe we'll rent another Tahoe or two if our funding cap can handle it. If you can, put out a info thread on it before our funding submission deadline - Nov 8th. Start time, location, tenative schedule, etc...
And i'll work on a CDO info thread as soon as I can. Which will probably be similar to my Hat Tourney info thread.
Thanks Zac!

Zigmas,
Check out the new thread for more information about the Kentucky Invitational. I hope that it helps. And if you all come down to our place for the tournament we will go to your place for your tournament for sure. (We don't really care how you all play that's your guys choice.) We just want to have some fun!
