Have you heard anything about MSU or LCC yet? Not trying to press you, just trying to plan ahead. BG is in for sure if they backed out.

Since that's the case I'm sure we can bring our JV team if you'd allow that? Those games wouldn't go towards the ranking at all, just more people to play. You could play our jv guys last so you can save your arms for the varsity games. Just an idea. If you agree to this can you let us know ASAP so i can tell my guys?

Not trying to start any big uproar or anything, but does that mean the EMU and GVSU get wins and SVSU forfeits 2 games because it's within 10 days of the matches? Just wondering.

Oh for....find me that in rule book please. If not then feel free to bring it up at the captains meeting in 24 days.

That got made a rule?!? That doesn't seem to make any sense. It doesn't punish the team that drops out, which I would assume is the intent. And by punish, I mean give them negative incentive to not drop out. It only helps the teams that didn't drop out. This is because we are on a points system where the losing team gets 0 points instead of a percentage based system where there would actually be negative effect on the team that drops out. Not saying the points system is bad, they both have ups and downs. If it was made a rule, I am all for our team getting some free points, but that seriously needs to be reconsidered at the captain's meeting at nationals.

It was made policy by Bomis, not a rule. I don't really think policy belongs in the Rulebook.
"Any cancellation outside of ten days from the event counts as a Forfeit (0 Points) for the Canceling team and a Win (2 points) is awarded to every other team participating in the event, unless waived by a majority of the participating teams. If the forfeited position is filled by another legitimate team within ten days and the start of the event, no points are awarded, no forfeit is given, and play proceeds as normal."
Not his exact wording, i had asked for the backup of this thread a while ago but was never given it.

So does that mean every team at the MDC gets 2 extra points when EMU couldn't come?

No because LCC took their spot and teams got the same number of games in (actually more than they would have gotten). Not saying that GV and EMU and whoever else is in the tournament is should get points, I'm just saying that there shouldn't be forfeit wins for the MDC.
