Hey Everyone,
I am pleased to announce that GVSU will be hosting our 2nd annual “GVSU Invite” this fall.
One of my goals for this season is to host one of the premier tournaments of the NCDA’s regular season. Based on the interest that I have already received from a number of teams, I think we could have a very competitive event here at Grand Valley next fall!
Below, I have listed the top five dates that we have requested the GVSU Arena for (We have requested several other dates as well, these five are just the most likely dates that we could hold this event). We will have 3 courts available for this event, giving teams the opportunity to play 4+ games that day. Please let me know if your team prefers any of the listed dates, or if there are some that you know won’t work for your team. We will figure out the final date in August, based on which one will get us the best turnout.
Just as a heads up, we will likely have a 7-team cap for this event, so once you know your team can attend, let us know, so we can hold a spot for you (obviously some teams won’t know their status until we get much closer to the event).
Once again, we won’t know the official date for the GVSU Invite until late August, but I will make sure to contact all interested teams once we know the day.
Possible Dates: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014
Teams interested in attending: Grand Valley (confirmed) James Madison Saginaw Valley State Central Michigan Michigan State Kent State Ohio State Towson DePaul

Thanks for inviting us to the GVSU Invite II "Riverside Rumble!" There was lots of Dodgeball. The only complaint we have was the lack of volunteers for ball shaggers (ball swaggers) and shot clock counters. It interrupted the flow of the game. This happened at the first GVSU Invite with Kent State's game with DU. There was also a lot of false starts that occurred on CMU. The officiating did not enforce the violations. If they were, CMU would have gone down in numbers each time compared to DU's 10 man roster. Other than that, everyone was a good sport. Hope to see you guys again!
