Nationals 2011 will kick off with the first All-Star Game in league history. Without knowing the players on each team, which squad has the edge?

Michigan by far, there is no way to argue it, we have the best arms hands down, best catchers, best teams, not to mention the only teams to win nationals.

I think Michigan has the better talent pool overall, but I could totally see the "World" pull off the upset if they want it more. Hopefully Michigan can represent though

I believe Michigan has the greatest depth of talent on their teams . i.e. almost everyone is a fierce gunner / quality catcher. But since it's just the top 2 from each team, I think that helps to even out the playing field (although it’s hard to argue that Michigan isn't the favorite going in). Something else to watch is that Michigan teams often have heated rivalries, so that should also make team game play rather interesting on their side of the court.
Also when will teams start announcing their all star picks? And is the All Star game the typical 2 halves, or just a single point?

Michigan is going to hand the World their heads on silver platter in the first point.

i know we got rid of some of the stuff, but i know we could still handle the radar gun on the side. If teams weren't greedy and wanted all their players clocked, we could have it going for most of sat. When we brought one to our dodgeball nights, it didn't stop play but we had some decent throws going on the side
We don't need to declare the official fastest arm in the league of 400 people but it would be nice to just see where one's at.
vote to MI, but i probably won't be playing

I voted for Michigan, but Kyle made the point I was thinking of as well. Michigan may have the all around best teams, but that doesn't mean that the top players from each team are better than the top players from non-michigan teams.

Each of the 5 Michigan teams will pick 6 players from their team to play. And each of the 15 other teams will pick 2 players. And two points will be played, if we need to do a tie breaker, a third point will be played.
In each point 3 players from each Michigan team will play one player from the 15 other teams (which makes up The World).

And two points will be played, if we need to do a tie breaker, a third point will be played. In each point 3 players from each Michigan team will play one player from the 15 other teams (which makes up The World). For as much as Felix and I talk about Nationals, I'm amazed we had a miscommunication but it looks like this slipped through the cracks. The All-Star Game will be two 12.5 minute halves. It will be just like a normal game, only it's 25 total minutes instead of 50. Team Michigan won't have 6 players from each squad, but instead be rewarded based on each team's finish at the MDC. So GVSU gets 8 players, CMU gets 7, MSU gets 6, SVSU gets 5 and EMU gets 4. The World will be comprised of 2 players from the 15 non-Michigan teams. Players will make their picks after showing up at the gym on Saturday morning. This avoids players being picked who might not show for whatever reason. Players will have as many picks as their team has selections. For example: WKU players will cast two votes and MSU players will get six votes. Players can vote for themselves. After the selections are made (in the event of a tie, we'll do a re-vote with just those players on the ballot) our All-Stars will be given jerseys and draw numbers out of a hat to determine the starting lineup. There is one exception: two games will be going on during the second half of the All-Star Game, so players from those teams will have to play the first half. In the event of a tie, we'll play a 10-minute sudden death OT with names drawn out of a hat once again to determine the players. Depending on our budget, the winning team might get medals. Hopefully that straightens everyone out. Any other questions?

First off I would like to point out a flaw that Michigan has the only teams to win the Championship. OSU won the first national championship. Secondly, EMU was not at the MDC, Lansing Community College was, and they actually had several really solid players. One of the strongest throwers that I have seen. So, if LCC is coming to nationals, then they would have the four players. If EMU couldn't make it an hour to Lansing, then I am confused how they will make the 9 hour trip to WKU. I am really looking forward to nationals this year Felix and Josh. I am pumped to take part in one that I am not running. lol.

"If EMU couldn't make it an hour to Lansing, then I am confused how they will make the 9 hour trip to WKU."
The 1 hour drive was not the issue. The fact that we are on spring break next weekend and all of our organizations/fraternities decided to do their event 2 weeks before spring break is why we couldn't make it. of our 25 man roster i would have had 7 guys that did not have some kind of "mandatory" organizational commitment for that day and league rules state you must have 10 guys minimum to play therefore that is the only reason we could not make it. It was Valentine'd weekend and many organizations were doing multiple things as was the student government and a lot of my guys are either president/vice president ect of these events.
Now your statement is definitely true about Lansing Community college, and if they are attending nationals then i believe they 100% deserve the 4 players entered into the all star tournament instead of EMU and would have no arguments about that. For you to call somebody out without knowing any facts however is a very low thing to do.
We will be at Nationals without a doubt, as everybody knows the circumstances, dates, and since that is finals week no organizations will be running any events for sure.

Dugans seriously don't start anything on the forums. No one was calling EMU out, he was only making a point. It's not like what he is saying doesn't make sense either. Teams do it every year, they say they have enough players and money, and then still don't show up.

i am not trying to start anything. I actually tried to answer that in a professional manner. If that did not come across then i apologize. And yes i do know teams state that they will be attending every year, and then drop. I'm sure the incidents that took place at our UK tournament did not help our cause to be completely honest.

Does LCC have any intention of coming to Nationals? If so, would that throw off the 20 team thing?
