Hey everyone! Just wanted to go ahead and give the scores for the ODC.
OSU v BGSU: 2-1 OSU v Kent: 4-1 BGSU v Kent: 3-2
Technically Ohio State won the ODC with the better record but because they already have the lower price BG gets it with a 1-1...at least thats what I was told. Correct me if i'm wrong =) Everyone have a great Spring Break!

I'm with Murphy on this one. Maybe I'm getting worse at picking up sarcasm these days.

Yeah, we didn't give SVSU the MDC title even though GVSU/CMU/MSU have all clinched the automatic in to the tournament/less money to buy into the tournament.

We already had the lower price being the host school but we didn't give the title to UK. OSU is the ODC winner and BGSU still has to pay the $200. Sorry Falcons.

Clearly I don't understand how the lower prices are being managed. . . I thought BGSU would get it.
Video of these matches will be up later in the week. Every match was competetive and fun, and I would love the oppertunity to play BGSU at nationals, its always a great game.
The only score that isn't mentioned above is the heated game of Rock Paper Scissors: BGSU 0 vs OSU 2

BGSU will still have to pay $200 for Nationals, the way the priority bid works is the following teams get the lower ($150) price, everyone else has to pay $200. We aren't giving the 2nd place of the KDC, ODC, MDC the priority price because that defeats the purpose of getting first place in those events.
Host School: WKU Top four from 2010 National Tournament: GVSU, MSU, OSU, CMU Winner of KDC: WKU Winner of MDC: GVSU Winner of ODC: OSU And the team with the highest points as of March 28: TBD

That was actually something I was going to bring up at the captains meeting at Nationals for changes for next year. Now that Illinois has three teams there should be some sort of IDC haha

when i was first talking about the Chicago Dodgeball Open in Oct/Nov I wanted to make it a priority bid tournament for the teams not in KY, MI or OH, but I was ignored. Then Bomis left and i stopped asking.
It shouldn't be exclusion by state of residence - it's unfair to a state's satellite teams. UWP should join the geographically closest region with the most teams (Moody, WIU, DePaul). And say if SIU Dodgeball changed their rules and joined Rubber Dodgeball - they would be just a couple hours from the KY teams, more than the 6-7 hours to Chicago or WIU.
And IDC sounds ridiculous so our region should make up some baller ass tournament name, or to be honest the names can switch every year. They don't have to remain the same - does MSU every plan on giving up the MDC tournament title? Maybe, but they shouldn't - the MDC has been the baby of Michigan State for 5 plus years. Well, now its a preschooler.
But DePaul is going to host the CDO next January and also wouldn't mind having it be the regional bid tournament for our region - if it's decided that we're going to do priority bids again. Unless Moody wants to host and can get the court space. Actually I think we'll just co-host at DePaul again.

If you are going to have this regional bid then it needs to be only teams from that region, no one else.

I think what Zigmas is saying is that teams like UWP and Towson don't have a region...so it's unfair because they have absolutely no way of getting a bid. There aren't enough teams in LA, KS, NE, WI, or MD to have regionals so they should be put with their closest bigger state or clump together in their own regional...for example NSU, K-State, and the Nebraskas could have their own western regional while UWP, DePaul, WIU, and Moody would have a different regional and then Towson could be put with the Ohio teams as we are the closest active state. Just saying "state only" regionals aren't fair and won't work in the future.

I totally agree with adding in those teams Alexis, for those teams who are to far out. But I was just saying if you are going to have a tournament for a bid, then it should be only teams that we consider to be in that region. So if you are having a tournament at Depaul, and WIU, Depaul, Moody and UWP are considered one region, then it should be only those teams. That's all I was trying to say.
