The forums are hectic, unless you are on here constantly like some of us who have no life. (so I've been told on here many times) It's just all talk about dodgeball. You have any comments or concerns on any topic you can leave it here for people to get back to you on. Scheduling on here is a big thing as well. Let teams know you've got something going on or are willing to get something going.
For this weekend, be prepared to have a great time and play some even greater teams. This league is easily the highlight of mine and I'm sure many others college careers. The people are amazing in this league and you're gonna make a lot of friends this weekend.
As for ice, bring it for your shoulder, elbow, legs, and face or just get it from the hotel. Also, if you guys plan on learning how to, or already do grip (gorilla grip, pinch, grip, grippy) whatever the hell you want to call it, I suggest you bring a LOT of tape.
Other than that welcome to the league and be prepared for one hell of a weekend.

To go off of what Mike said, 1. Team throw. A lot of the teams in the league can catch pretty much every solo throw (so long as you guys aren't trotting out a team full of 70 mph guys) so team throwing is really important. 2. Watch your crosses. People (like myself) will take the cross throw a lot, and if you're just looking straight ahead you're going to take a lot of shots to the face. 3. Defense. Block for your teammates, because if you don't the good teams will take advantage of it and start picking off your players one by one. As for the teams you're playing Saturday, Saginaw footage: www.youtube.com/user/ncdadodgeball?blend=1&ob=5#p/u/3/BfMnx6ZtU7MWKU footage: www.youtube.com/user/ncdadodgeball?blend=1&ob=5#p/u/21/C9qScXYItW0No footage for BGSU unfortunately, but they have three or four solid arms, a couple good catchers, and some good dodgers.

i'm calling it right now though, ksu will either dominate our pool play or be dominated. we play a different style of 'ball... call us the butler or vcu of the tourney...

From the looks of this video, it looks like you guys might have us beat for having the biggest (tallest) group of guys. We are a larger team and it seems like you've got some height over there. Also, do you not gorilla grip?

Nebraska was the first time we'd heard of that and most of us have it figured out now (I still occasionally throw the ball directly into the ground). Earlier you were talking about bringing tape if we grip like that, what are you taping up - fingers or wrists?

Fingers. All your fingers, and a lot of guys wear gloves. Either baseball or football gloves.

or gardening gloves. We have a couple guys who for some reason wear gardening gloves, one of our best players does.

Hockey tape works best in my opinion, but athletic tape is also very good. Ask some players this weekend because you'd rather learn how to tape them properly so you dont have to keep putting new tape on every game.

Gardening gloves are the best. All of the pros use gardening gloves.
