Ladies and gentlemen,
Among the many things going on with the website, i'm about to request some information for all the member teams. This info goes on their NCDA bio page.
It at least has to detail: - year of team foundation - year of NCDA membership (founding member status if it applies) - location - regularly and historically hosted events (CDO, MSU invite, BEAST, etc) - notable records or wins of any interest - short bio, maybe
The general idea is that this is an informational / bio page. Updated at least on the basis of once a year. That's just the kind of time frame I'd expect... I'm happy to update it more than that, if you email it over.
I'll email this request out to the list, and probably drum up a sample DePaul page. But if you want to post it here that works too.

This explicitly excludes DePaul, JMU, Kent, UK, UMD, MSU, UNL, WKU For those of you that have not turned in their bio information for the website: This info goes on each member team's NCDA bio page. Please submit! It at least has to detail: - Official Club Acronym - Official Club Name - Your club logo, if you have one (I take an athletic logo by default) - year of team foundation - year of NCDA membership (founding member status if it applies) - location - regularly and historically hosted events (CDO, MSU invite, BEAST, etc) - notable records, wins, or facts of any interest - short bio - social media links and official websites The general idea is that this is an informational / bio page. Updated at least on the basis of once a year. That's just the kind of time frame I'd expect... I'm happy to update it more than that, if you email it over. If you go on the temporary site right now, and hover over the "member teams" menu button, you can see what other teams have included in their bios.

yo,
so I like to do the website stuff, it's a good hobby for me. Buuuut I think I speak for Zigmas as well when I say we could use you guys' help. If you ever want to get a story on the website, just send it to me on facebook or email (hillers1@msu.edu) and I'll put it up there.
Specifically, we need teams to do their bios for the team pages, because I tried to do some of them but I just don't know enough about all the teams to do them. Right now we have 9 of the 25 teams in the NCDA. If you were a new person looking at the league and you hover across the Member Teams thingy, then you're going to think "oh there's only 9 teams in this league, why should we join?" because in my opinion the website serves two purposes- 1. To inform current teams and players about what's going on in the league, since so little of our games are put on youtube and it's hard to know what's going on (for example, as a Michigander, I know next to nothing about Maryland and Towson. Hit us up with what's going on!) and 2. To make our league look legitimate for future teams and players. If you're looking at joining the NCDA (whether as a team or as an individual) you might not join if our website looks like poop. The current website format is awesome, way better than it looked back in 2008 (no offense Josh or whoever was in charge back then!) but if we get more content then we can keep the league informed on what's going on and stuff.
I think our league will compare favorably to the Club Ultimate Frisbee league in the future. Their website is pretty sweet. They update, stream matches, put news up there, all sorts of stuff. Obviously we're not big enough nor do we pay enough cash to fund the website to do that, but if we ever want to get big (and by big I don't mean a NCAA Sport, I mean a big time club sport with over 100 teams) having a good website will help.
This is just my opinion though! But seriously, if you want to write up a story or something, or if you want to get your team bio done, send it to me or Zig.
Thanks!

Hey Hiller-
On the standings update post, it says our record is 5-1-1 when we are really 5-0-1

You are 5-1-1. 1 loss total but if you look back at the previous three years of google docs Zigmas has done the records this way, and to keep the records all looking the same I'm following him. So you're 5 wins, 1 loss, with the lone loss being an OT loss.

Its more like the calculations and formulas work better if the OT Loss is also counted as a loss. It counts the amount of OTL a team accrues, then adds standing points accordingly.
And since dodgeball points are weird in all areas (i've come to understand that every dodgeballer is a weirdo), and because 5-0-1 sounds like a soccer tie, I like to refer to the stat as 5-1-1OTL just to make sure its a little clearer.

Hey guys and gals, I've been thinking, and I think it'd be sweet for the league if every team had a facebook page (similar to CMU's www.facebook.com/CMUDodgeball?fref=ts) I know most if not all teams have a facebook group, but I think it'd be awesome if everyone had one of each. It's a good way to grow out to potential players/fans/sponsors, and its just cool I guess. Basically it's a good way to reach out to people with pictures, videos, articles in your school paper, etc. Right now we have Towson, WKU, Nebraska, JMU, VCU, MSU, North Texas, RIT, EMU, BGSU, CMU, GVSU, UK, and SVSU. If we could have every/almost every team make one, it'd look good for the league and be a good way for you guys to get more players/fans! Thanks!
