Inspired by a twitter conversation, we should really streamline our recruitment operations. We've begun a list of all colleges and universities (for now within the USA). Some have dodgeball club sport organizations or want to have an org. They are marked accordingly. Others need to be contacted and the information needed from them kept blank. This is probably best kept in a G-drive spreadsheet. If anyone would like to help with this in any capacity, please feel free to post up. At the very least, post up any school's you'd like to see and we'll add them to the list. Upcoming Teams:Those that are student orgs, have submitted relevant contact information to the NCDA, but haven't played a match yet.UNT - U of North Texas Spreadsheet Layout:Name (University shorted to U, States shorted to fit as needed, etc) Acronym (ideally short, about 8 letters max) State (2 letters) Stu Org (Yes, applying, blank equals 'unknown' or 'no'.) Active (Years active) Email (multiple main emails if applicable) Facebook Website NCDA Status (Defunct, Upcoming Member, Founding Member, Member Team, Inactive) Contacted (US = Rep contacted the NCDA or a Member Team, all others = who contacted the school or rep) How (Email, Mail, FB, Forum, etc.) When (Preferably the full date, if not, just the year) Responded (What kind of state is this school in to join the NCDA. UM = Upcoming member

I've been talking with the group from Kean University in NJ to get them all set up. They all seem to be excited about it, but I don't see anyone doing anything on their side about it. So hopefully it doesn't turn into one of those "Yea-I-really-want-to-do-that"-but-nothing-ever-comes-of-it situations.

Okay... that doesn't sound good. They need some convincing.

Over the summer I tried talking to other Kentucky schools (Morehead St, Murry St and Northern Kentucky) and none replied. (Maybe no reply because it was summer, idk). I also sent an email to Tennessee and Vandy. Vandy did send me back a nice email that said basically their campus rec department can't endorse a club sport (aka advertise "Hey lets make a dodgeball team") unless a group of students comes to them first. I'm not sure if that is the protocol to other schools but if there was some way we can advertise to the students of whatever college or university that there is a collegiate dodgeball league I feel we can get some more schools in the league. I know UK and probably WKU and Northwestern St. (LA) would love to have some teams from the south in the league.

When Chris Hess (JMU) and myself (VCU) was trying to recruit schools and whatnot, we were having the same issues. Some won't reply and some just like Vandy saying the exact thing. So unless you or anyone else for that matter can find a way and let a group of students from another school or have friends at another school that are interested, then we are going to have a slow growth in our league. I'm not saying that to be a jerk or anything; I would love to have some schools in Virginia, NC,SC, TN, LA, and other places around the country in the league. I just haven't found a method to do it other than find schools that already got an interest group in dodgeball.

What I did in the past was to look for information regarding intramural dodgeball games (most universities have at least that), do a facebook search for any names mentioned, then send them a facebook message or email if that's available.

If anyone has people they've contacted in the past, please post them up. If you have the time to include info along with each school, that would help me too. The sheet has the information laid out.
I'd like to populate the spreadsheet, and i also wouldn't to overly bother people with double emails.

For now, I've added all NCAA DI schools, alphabetically, from Alabama to Illinois. Working on the rest. I don't want to get into DII and DIII specifically as the list is already at 150 or so. I add those schools when I get them from either other member team requests, or those specific schools that contact the ncda email or forum directly.
I'm also going to add the current member teams as well.
Edit: I completed listing a great deal of DI schools. Probably might have a few missing here and there, but definitely lots and lots of places to look up. About 350 schools listed.

I know Kansas State has played with KU a couple times, but I don't think they play by NCDA rules. I'll try to contact KU about it though.

We need to get recruitment packets out to these schools. Zigmas have you finished updating the information in the packet?

We've reached out to Radford and invited them to both of our events, hopefully we could see them as soon as February!

I've contacted a majority already. No responses. emailed 10-23-2012 according to the recruit doc.
WMU has only one member in that page, no contact, and their constitution from Sept 2010 I haven't gotten NCSU or KU, i'll email them today.
I've listed Radford as contacted by JMU... chris, do you have an email or any other info I can fill in?
Recruitment packet doesn't have the contact list since 3-6 teams haven't replied to me with their data.

The person I found contact information for is Lauren English, and her e-mail address was lkenglish@radford.edu.
Radford would be a great addition for us in Virginia, and the East Coast in general.

I know mentioned above you're looking in the US for now, but I'm the head coach of the Humber College Lakeshore team in Toronto, Canada. We currently compete in the OCCCR (a division in the www.ocaa.com/landing/index) and we compete against other Colleges, similar to the NCDA I assume. It would be awesome to work together, or perhaps have a tournament that we can all compete in? thoughts?
