Per Sean Smith:
Season Definition
The season should begin the Monday after Nationals and end the Thursday before Nationals.

Per Felix Perrone:
The NCDA's fiscal year runs July 1st-June 30th.
For the best interest of the league and the opportunity to have an offseason. In my opinion, the season should be defined as August 1st through the Monday preceding Nationals.

I agree with Felix. There needs to be a set "off-season". Having that off-season begin directly following Nationals is the best option.

I am in favor of an off season. But an important tangent concern to this question is when to "end" the regular Season before the Nationals event. We need to be able to allow Nationals event committee enough time to develop and release a schedule. Felix's 5 day period (Monday before the Nationals weekend) probably does the best job.
Regular Season: From August 1st to the Monday preceding the start of Nationals. Nationals event: Allowed to be held from Friday through Sunday, a total of 3 days. Off Season: Immediately following the National Championship match of the Nationals Event, to July 31st. NCDA events may be held in the off season and recorded as being part of the preceding season, but match results do not count towards a team's ranking.

I agree with everything Zigmas said other than one small detail:
I would actually prefer if the "regular season" is ended a week prior to what Zigmas just mentioned. So basically regular season = August 1st through 2 Mondays before the national tournament (rather than just one Monday before).
The reason is that this would give said "Nationals event committee" enough time to create a schedule etc. and release it. If the regular season went up until the Monday right before Nationals that means that Monday through Thursday is all the time that an event committee would have to create all the scheduling.
The main issue with this is that people won't be happy if the schedule for the biggest tournament of the year is released the night before their team is set to travel there. Not to mention that teams will have no opportunity to prepare for Nationals opponents in practice if the regular season ends less than a week before Nationals causing the schedule to be released later that week. Basically I'm saying that in the past, Nationals scheduling has all been released at least a week before the actual tournament affording teams enough time to prep. Making the regular season end two weeks prior to Nationals will continue this trend, while having the regular season end only a few days before Nationals would possibly have a negative impact.
