Right now there is a housing committee here at Nebraska trying to set-up a world record dodgeball game in January. Univ. of California - Irvine broke the record in September at 1745 people. We need to bring the record to an NCDA school, though!
They want me to work with them and I raised the idea of possibly having some NCDA teams come out and participate as well. It'll probably be about $4/person to participate (to cover the cost of the balls, court space, and the rest to the Omaha Children's Hospital). If any teams were to come down to play, we could possibly have a game beforehand, or the following day. If any teams are interested, let me know so I can get you guys information as it comes.

WKU is planning a similar event for the fall of 2011, we are projecting a turn out of 2000-2250. So far the biggest problem we are running into is purchasing balls, they are expensive and take up A LOT of space when you get 500 of them haha.

My best suggestion on this one is sponsors in the community. At UK we have the world's largest water balloon fight. We had help from all of the local churches in filling up water balloons. We also did PR for about 3 months before the event. All I can say is that it requires a TON of man hours. I have faith in you guys, just start getting it all prepared!

Well luckily I don't have to worry about that. They are getting money from the Res. Hall governments to cover the cost of the balls. And we are looking at over 2000 as well.
