3.4.1.4 Immediate Catch - If a dead player is walking towards his or her empty jail and their teammate catches a live ball, the dead player is back in. 3.4.1.4.1 The recently deceased must re-enter play through the baseline. 3.4.1.4.2 If an Immediate Catch is made a split-second after a Target is eliminated, the Target is permitted to remain in play on an official's call.
I REALLY do not like 3.4.1.4.2. One of the biggest problems we have in the league is arguing of calls and no so well informed refs. What this rule does is take a very probable argument and put it in the hands of a ref. The last thing we want is a ref making a call on a split second decision, they have enough to worry about. I would suggest that a player has to be completely off the court before he is eligible to re enter. This way there is no split second argument and it gives the players incentive to get off the court.
On the other hand this situation would only occur at the start of the game when there is no one in jail, or a team is dominating. So a team would proly not argue a call like this. But still, I prefer to keep things as black and white as possible and take the gray areas out of the hands of someones opinion.
What do you think?

So the rule would now be. As long as the catch is made after a player is out, no matter where they are, or how soon it was after they got out (A millisecond, 25 seconds) they are back in. How ever the MUST exit the court and re enter through the base line per regular rules.
This is civil discussion at its finest gentleman, nice work
