Raymer locked the thread over Student IDs after Felix so valiantly put forth his plan to address the issue being discussed there, so I won't rehash something that has been put to rest.
However, Chris brought up something about DePaul which had very little to do with my fire-and-brimstone post about over-competitiveness, etc; that we/they reject rules if they don't "openly allow fun" and that there are "rumors" that we don't play by league rules. I'll put this one to rest (and apologies to my compatriots if this is getting to the point a little to adamantly... ya'll know I don't know how to do it any other way)...
No, we don't play by NCDA rules most of the time. On Monday and Thursday nights, which we just refer to as "dodgeball" and not "practice", we essentially play a pick up game where the rules are set but rather fluid, where catches do not count as outs so as to make sure people get more time on the court and where no shot clocks or boundaries exist because, well, let's face it... those rules suck. We police ourselves, generally play by ourselves and only communicate with other teammates when the moment calls for it. There are certainly times (especially nowadays) when the league rules are used to prep the team for the more stringent rule set used at league matches and tournaments, but most of the time we just wing it and play with an honor system and play for fun and to let out aggression. That's the way our founders did it, that's the way it'll always be done. And no secrets have ever really been made about this.
So, if that makes us easy to beat or lackadaisical or whatever, so be it. The way we do things will probably never change, even with me gone and someone far more proactive like Ziggy at the helm. We're in this (and helped foster the league, remember) because of the camaraderie we found/find in our club and the fun we had/have with this game. If not playing by the rules makes us lepers, then consider me proud of my scars.

Personally I think you guys are a breath of fresh air. Coming from GVSU competitiveness is definitely a part of dodgeball which is why I love it, but seeing you DePaul guys play is a whole different kind of love. What you guys play is what I would want to play with my closest friends where we dink around and just have pure fun. When 95% of all the games you play are dead serious, sometimes you need a fun game that DePaul plays to remind you of the good ol' days of dodgeball.

When your serious most of the time it tears ya down. I always look forward to playing you depaul guys you make the matches fun and exciting. In all honesty I kinda guessed you didn't play by the rules all thatvmuch on your own time Because you all always have the funniest game ideas hahah What WKU does to keep the game exciting is have a day where practice Is a fun practice. No grippy. Different game types. Just dink around with the team. It's just a day to relieve stress and build team relationships.

I enjoyed that game, but I think we were already tired until our reinforcements got in. One guy on WKU also pulled a really fast Awesome, which i caught but it definitely stung like hell. And gladiator always abides... now you guys know how we do it; circling around the players in a ring of death and making all sorts of noise

Zig, if I had to guess that Awesome was probably Jared Silverthorn. He's got that thing down to a science.
