p.s. I would support WKU getting a point (credit for and overtime game), but I think it should be put to a captains vote on the fourm for a ruling.

Giving WKU a point seems fair.

I have absolutely no hard feelings about this match at all, the reason I brought it up was to bring it to everyone's attention so a situation like this could be avoided in the future. To my knowledge, nothing like this has happened in the past. This was just a bad situation, and someone was going to get screwed over, so it was WKU's turn this go-around haha. No big deal, I'm okay with what everyone else agrees on, giving us a point, not giving us a point. I don't care either way, what's done is done. I just want to use this situation as a preventative measure for the future.
I don't know if adding something in the rule book for referee errors would be a good idea or not though, but it could be something to think about.

I was going between games throughout this round of matches and as I caught glimpses of this match it was the best match played of the day. Sadly, I wish I was present at the end of this point in question to have made a better call. When I came over the point had just ended. When I gave OSU the opportunity to take the win, (Which had already occurred) or to take it back into overtime, I didn't think that I should take away as to what had been a win for them or overrule the official since I had not been at the match at the time of the dispute and the match was over.
However, I do believe that the end results of this game should show that this was a great game and both teams played great. If it is allowable to award an extra point to WKU I would vote for that to occur.
Also, with EMU leaving a little early and not being able to play WKU and knock the amount of games down to 2 for WKU, (The only team supposed to be as low as 2 was UK since we were hosting and I didn't want to make teams travel so far and get so few games.) I am in favor of weighing on the side of helping them out. Additionally, we will come to WKU to replace that match you all didn't get either during one of your practices for a match or during a weekend.

@zac Brown
You did a great job of putting on a tournament, and it is a shame that this happened the way it did. It is not your fault at all. Any way the ruling came down on the OSU vs WKU after the game was over somebody was going to get screwed and be a little upset (rightly so).

In regards to our match against WKU:
At the outset, let me state that the decision I was presented with (i.e. to either keep the win or allow the game to go into overtime) was exceptionally difficult. I, subsequently, expressed the circumstances to the team and I decided to keep the game as is.
As user ‘cabuckeye’ alluded to, the clock was continuing during the dispute concerning the possible ‘backward’ throw. This, intuitively, calls into question the timekeeping writ large. Following the match, it was conveyed to me that possibly ’30+ seconds’ was added on to the second half (thus, giving us additional time to eliminate WKU). Keeping in mind the continuation of the clock during the quarrel over the potential ‘backward’ throw, 30+ additional seconds, in our collective view, was too small of a possible error to warrant overturning the win.
I gather from the feed, that a possible remedy may be afforded to WKU – given the conditions. I would be interested in such an proposal.
All in all, it is a shame that the match resulted as it did. Moreover, I acknowledge the fact that OSU received more controversial calls in our favor than that of WKU. Did these calls consequently provide us with the win? Who knows? I do know, however, that given the intensity and dynamics that is dodgeball; controversial calls will persist in our league. I only hope the next match between OSU and WKU runs more smoothly, since, ignoring the controversial calls for a moment, the match was a healthy equilibrium of fun and competitiveness – in my view.

The only result I got from the tourney was a black eye. Still have no idea who threw it. Fun tournament though, probably the most fun I've had in 5 years.

actually it was in the giant game in the end, and no maximus that guy was Matt Retta. I think I might have handed out one or two black eyes too lol.
