So I had joked to Raymer that I could possibly bang out CG for 3-4 games per weekend, assuming my laptop didn't blow up on me.
It blew up on me.
More specifically, the wire between the main machine and the monitor have fused and burnt. I'm hooked up to a 10-yr old monitor right now until my new purchase comes in.
The good news is that the machine itself is fine, and all the CG files are still there. In addition, Raymer has copies of everything he needs. If there are other video editors, I can ship them a copy of everything so they can get to work. For the time being, though, I am on full stop while I wait for my replacement. It's a big process to edit a game, and I have a few ideas on how to streamline it for editors next season, but for now sit tight and we'll get content out as quick as we can.

I believe Jardine is now in on the project as well. All CG is completed to the point where it's just a matter of overlaying and green-screening the existing footage, but I'll let Josh explain it since he understands the CG package without having designed it and is in the best position to relay how it works. NOTE: In order to process footage, editor must have basic understanding of Photoshop or an equivalent and same for video editing software with green screen capability (Windows Movie Maker will not cut it).As for me, goal is to have intro clip designed and ready for export from Adobe After Effects in three weeks. I have been assured by Josh that my work so far is "seriously awesome" and I hope it lives up to the billing.

I sent Josh a quick instruction guide, dunno if he relayed it to you. Basic concept is that we're putting a bunch of old overhead projector transparencies on top of each other, only instead of transparency we've got green. The photoshop files are able to create any transparency you'll need, so you make the appropriate layers visible and save a copy as a jpeg or png or something. The magic comes in with the video software when we put the image over the video and activate the green screen effect, leaving us with the stuff we want on top of the footage.

In my opinion, counting the number of people who remain on the court is a ridiculous feature when you can't see the whole court in one shot, and prolongs the post-production unnecessarily. You need a dedicated overhead cam, at halfcourt, in superwide or panorama, just to speed that up

If there is anything that I can do to help, please let me know. It might not be much because I do not know how to edit videos, but there has to be something I could do.
