Anyone else bummed out of their mind that this was their last dodgeball tournament?? I lost it after our last game ended. Dodgeball has been such an enormous part of my life these past four years that I couldn't help but get emotional. And I am not an emotional person. As for me, I will be graduating in 26 days thus ending my collegiate dodgeball career. I would like to thank the hundreds of people, and dozens of friends I have met all over the league through the years. You guys made my college experience what it was. Whether it was a team like UK who we play two or three times a year, or Moody who we only played once. In some form or fashion, you guys made a difference in me. I have been offered a Graduate Assistant position and have been accepted to the Communication Graduate Program here at WKU, but I have also received a couple great job opportunities in different places across the country (DC, NYC, Nashville). If I choose to enter the work force, I would like to say the pleasure has been insurmountable playing with and against all you fine gentlemen (and ladies). If I decide to continue my education, you better believe I'm going to make the memories count and my dodgeball career continue. As I stood in front of my team for the last time wearing #76, with tears in my eyes I told them I hope they're this emotional at the end of their last game, because if you are, you know you've been a part of something amazing. I hope to see you all in the future

I am. It hit me when I had gotten out for what I thought was going to be the final time (which it was) during our match against UK. From where Kent was in the previous 2 years to what it was this year was unimaginable. I knew before the weekend I was going to lose it when it ended, the tears just crept up on me a little sooner than I thought. And things like Nationals and other tournaments is only half of it. Playing dodgeball with my team members on our normal Fridays is going to hurt just as much.
At least now I can rest my knee to fully recover from a meniscus tear I got back at the MSU invite. My doctor is very happy.

Just so you guys know, it's never over. There are other avenues for playing dodgeball and there are still ways of being a part of the NCDA, look at Bomis!

Reading those comments boys got me choked up thinking about playing and all the amazing men and women I have met in this awesome sport. I can honestly say because of dodgeball I have 400+ friends from Michigan to Louisiana. I know some of you I will never have the pleasure of truly knowing but I can honestly say I can call each and every one of you my friend. And like Jimmy said, it's not over just because your out of school or don't play anymore. Come back and go to a tournament, or ref, or go to a practice with your old team. I know everyone would be more than willing to welcome you back!

I SWEAR TO GOD WE NEED TO CREATE A SUPER TEAM! There are dodgeball tournaments popping up all over the nation. I'm talking $800 to $10,000 cash prizes split between 8 people. Think about it, NCDA teams always dominate regular teams.
Could you imagine a 6 man roster of Trippiedi, Fisher, Jardine, Stein, Sweet, and Elliot?

It may not be your game any more, but you can contribute and help ensure that the game provides the best experience possible for those who currently play.

I also am very sad to go. I will not be able to be very involved with dodgeball next year because I will be working full time and going to school for my masters. Oakland University team anyone? JK I am glad I get to retire on top, but it was great competing against all of you. I let my competitive side get the better of me a lot on the court, but I never take it off the court. It was truly an honor battling against the best dodgeballers in the nation for 5 years. I think people who take up this sport not only reap the benefits of an active lifestyle/great game, but companionship that they will never forget and never lose. What I would give to be in college for longer and talk crap with all of you for a few more years haha. I am sure some of the refs will enjoy my graduation though, if not all. I have given most of you s h .it throughout my career, but respect you all no matter who said what on the court. Even stevenson from GVSU haha. All of you that can, keep working to make this league better! It is amazing to see how far we've come!

I'm totally bummed. Man with the problems we're having at emu I wasn't able to go to our only tournament last year. I'm itching to play pick up at VCU or somewhere. But I hope to see y'all in future because I'm helping with VCU's and Emu's club even though I've graduated. So who knows maybe I'll be allowed to play at someone's practice or something.
