Hello good people!
We here at the NCDA (content wise) have decided to have January be Alumni Appreciation Month.
We’ll be seeking interviews and articles written about our glorious past graduates, to be put up on NCDAdodgeball.com. Most teams have some cool people that no longer are an official part of the team, so ask around! Articles showcasing early leaders and players of the NCDA would be a big plus!
We’ll also welcome alumni to submit content as well, so if anyone would like to write anything, please feel free to submit it by email to ncdadodgeball@gmail.com. Or post up here.
This is happening beside all the regular content, season previews, and result articles for this month. So check out the site as often as you can! Sam and I are producing some great reads this year.

Here's one I did for Josh Raymer, let me know if this is about the same lines as to what you're looking for:
"Josh Raymer has done two good things in his life; yes only two. First, he married a woman who is WAY out of his league. I mean, his wife is seriously hot. But before he put the Raymer-charm on this beautiful woman and woo-ed her into matrimony, he created the dodgeball club at WKU which has changed the lives of every single member since its creation in 2006. He has created a club that has spawned countless friendships, a great place for those weird kids we always seem to attract to find their place at the university and open them to possibilities that may not have existed before, and of course given everyone a sense of belonging, friendship, and networking without the financial constraints of a fraternity. Also he gave everyone a chance to his others in the face with balls. These friendships and connections were not limited to WKU either, because of Raymer's hard work with the club, we all have friends spanning the Midwest that we could call for a place to crash on a couch or have the occasional adult beverage with (although here at WKU we do not condone the use of alcohol, tobacco, or narcotics while on WKU sponsored events or trips (happy WKU Sport Clubs Dept?)). Raymer has also done some other interesting, but not necessarily good things, with his life since graduation. He helped the team with their planning of the 2011 NCDA National Tournament for no other compensation other than to see the smiles on everyone's face when they realized they were attending the greatest event known to man! He also worked as a sports writer for the Frankfort State Journal in the Bluegrass State capitol. He now has returned to WKU working as a Innovative Coordinator for The Center of Gifted Studies, where he recruits, markets, and designs events for Kentucky's brightest youth. But like I said earlier, his greatest accomplishment was marrying that hottie with a body. Oh, and I guess the dodgeball thing too. That was good."

perfect. From what I had in mind, the "what's the player doing now" part was spot on. But I especially like how it sounded the same as when you guys we're ripping on him in the podcasts. Only nicer. ncdadodgeball.com/?p=1530

I'll do one for Bryan Janick, founder of SVSU dodgeball. And maybe even Jason Stein, the most hated man in dodgeball. (Still)

I'd like to show appreciation to 2 of my Captains while at my time at GV Dodgeball. I have a lot of respect for them and learned a lot about Dodgeball. It's not humorous like Perrone's from WKU but it will do.
"It was a big transition period for Grand Valley Dodgeball in the 2010-2011 season. They have won 4 Championship Titles and won 4 Michigan Dodgeball Cups in the span of 5 years. A lot of their Heavy Hitters and Top Catchers graduated and became Legends. 2nd Year Captain Jimmy Stokes and Assistant Captain Greg Trippiedi had a lot to live up to while taking on a young core of players with no experience in NCDA play. We still had some good Veterans on the team; Stempky (also Assistant Captain), Zinn, Reed, Stahura, Savalle, Stevenson, Talsma, Merril, Abrahamson, Hunt, Dan, Lamar, Olsen, Lenny, Skully, Kenny, Fettig. They started the season 0-2 (a lost to the Chippewas) and things were looking grim. The experts were asking, "Is Grand Valley dominance over? I beg to differ. Luckily, Jimmy and Greg had an open mind and listened to new ideas and implemented some during practice. It was a good environment instilled with a good culture. After the Holidays and the New Year, Grand Valley Dominated at Michigan State's IM Sports Arena and won it's 5th Michigan Dodgeball Cup (MDC) in 5 years. The Juggernauts named "Central Michigan" tore up opponents that year in limited play (5-6 games)."They were the team to beat if GV wanted a 5th peat. Riding on a good streak going into Nationals, GV would face CMU once again in the Finals, but again, came up short. They truly had a Chip on their shoulder. Central Michigan was the hump GV couldn't get over. It was their year and they deserved it. The Alumni set up the current student athletes for success. I still believe Grand Valley has the best program in the Nation because of it. Jimmy now currently works as an Engineer at Takata Corporation on the East side of Michigan. He still plays in Dodgeball Tournaments (so watch out). Greg is probably coaching football somewhere (and writing about sports) while praying that RGIII recovers fast from injury. Hats off to old men!"
