In the same breath as my last post I present this question.
A person is hit with multiple balls at the same time; one ball becomes airborne and is team caught, while the other becomes dead BEFORE the team catch what happens?
According to the rule book it would still count as a team catch. Here is the rule:
3.4.1.2 Team Catch - If a directly thrown ball hits a Target and a teammate catches the ball before it becomes dead, it is deemed a Team Catch. A player from the Target’s jail comes back into play. The Thrower is not out.
The rule only specifically mentions making catch before the ball becomes dead, not the player. In this case the target would be "out" but the targets team would get another player in from the outline. I like this rule how it is, as long as the team caught ball was live before the target was ruled "out".

Yes, you are correct. The rule is based on whether the ball is live or not, not the player. This is a great situation to add to the casebook!

Another entry for the Casebook I think.
I believe your situation is the correct scenario as to what should happen. If it were to be the other way, it would be too hard for the official to call.
This Casebook example supports that.
This casebook entry could be construed as contradictory though:
Although the spirit of this case is focused on the Target's actions after they become a dead player, not anything regarding a team catch. So I think adding a clause near this clause would be beneficial. Unless someone thinks of another place.
Edit: Felix beat me to it
