I believe this was a rule before but now I cannot find it.
If one team has all of the balls in their possession isn't their count set at 10 seconds no matter how many people they have? If this is the case, when does that shot clock change take place?
These are the options that I see for this rule:
1. Clock counts to 10s as soon as one team gets all balls in their possession. (not really possible since they could get all balls at >10s)
2. Clock sets to 10s after they throw a ball. (also not reasonable since they would no longer have all the balls)
3. Team with all balls have 5 seconds to throw immediately after gaining the 10th ball
4. Trash this rule, but make a rule that the team that gains balls after a shot clock violation only has 10s to throw
5. Trash the rule, having all 10 balls does not change shot clock ever.
There are probably other options, but this is all I got for now.

I don't ever remember this being a rule, but that of course doesn't mean it was not. I do like this idea though. I hate when games are stalled out for any reason, especially when a team has all the balls. I will add this to the agenda for the captain's meeting for things to consider. Thanks Dylan!

4 and 5 appear the only viable options. I believe that 4 was in effect at some point.
Frankly, you should just knock the shot clock to 10 seconds throughout the match and be done with it. Giving someone the option to throw only 4 dodgeballs per minute is begging for abuse and non-playing.

I agree, a lot of people have been talking about changing this to speed up the game and to increase scoring. This should definitely be talked about at the captains meeting

I kinda agree with the shot clock being set to 10 secs for the entire game.
I was gonna say that option 3 sounds good but if a team gets the tenth ball with <5 secs than it wouldn't matter. I was gonna say that if a team has >5 secs on the shot clock when receiving the tenth ball than the shot clock can be reduced to 5 secs (5 secs left in the countdown before a shot clock violation) but that might be confusing for the players and the shot clock refs so I'm fine with options 4 or 5.
