Kentucky vs OSU overtime there was a questionable "too many players" situation. We don't have a punishment for this in the rulebook. I say yellow card to the captain (or an assistant if the captain is not playing in the point)

I think that's fair, and it doesn't have to be limited to just OT either. We can enact a rule saying: "If at any time during a match a team has more players on the court than are allowed, the captain will receive a yellow card and the extra player(s) will be asked to leave the court. If the captain is not playing during the point in which the foul has been committed, the assistant captain will receive the yellow card. If the assistant captain is not playing during the point either, the other team will choose the recipient of the yellow card."

OSU had seven on their side. It is unclear whether the seventh actually stepped on the court, but was lined up on the baseline at the beginning of the point. Play was stopped and was restarted 6 v. 6. Not a huge issue as it was resolved before play progressed, but this is something that should be put in the rulebooks.

I feel like it's the referee's job to ensure the correct maximum number of players are on the court before every point isn't it? I don't think that the captain should automatically receive a yellow card and sit for the entire point. I think maybe it should be a penalty somewhere like a false start, where the captain is instantly called out, but he goes to the end of the out line and IS allowed to return to play upon a catch.

I agree with Wes on this one. It is the ref's job before each point to make sure that there are only 15 players on each side of the court, or 6 in the case of overtime.

At the same time it is a captain's job to make sure that he has the correct number of players on the court before the game starts. ...
