I created this thread to announce that next year Towson University will be hosting the Battle for the East. This will be a round robin/tournament involving the 6 East Coast teams: Towson, Maryland, James Madison, Virginia Commonwealth, Penn State, and RIT (if they have a team to compete). Realistically the tournament will take place either the last weekend of September, or the first weekend in October. Since all teams are relatively close there is the possibility that it might be held on a Sunday, however we are shooting for a Saturday. This tourny will be a 1 day tournament, that will probably start sometime around 9 or 10 in the morning and end around 6 or 7 at night, this way if teams want to drive back they will have plenty of time before it gets to late. We will only be charging a $25 or $30 entry fee to the tournament. Each team will get either 3 or 4 games, 3 guaranteed. 2 courts will be rented for this event. Players from the teams that are not playing at the time will be counted on to ref the other games. Not only will this be Towson's first big tournament in which they host, it will also likely be the first competition for the majority of the schools attending. This event will give a great feel as to who the legitimate contenders will be next year on the east coast. Presidents of the East coast teams are encouraged to post/comment whether they have interest in this tournament, any ideas, questions or suggestions. **MOD** We won't be able to make it if it's the first Saturday in October because that is our Family Weekend.
