Greetings NCDAers,
NCDA dodgeball is awesome. The scale is grand and the headshots are plentiful. However, someday you will graduate and it will no longer really be feasible for you to gather 29 friends to play a game of dodgeball. Sometimes the only game you will be able to find will be with foam balls, and you will have to pretend that you're totally into that. So, in order to prepare for life as an old fart like me, I'd like to invite you all to a event hosted by me and other GVSU Dodgeball Alumni.
The Grand Rapids Open will be held on March 29th in Grand Rapids, MI (duh). Full details can be found at our website and facebook event page (links below), but to give you an idea of what it will be about:
6v6 on a 50' x 25' court.
No neutral zone (25' throw line, very scary)
2 Events (must play both)
1st Event: 4 8" foam balls and 2 6.25" foam balls
2nd Event: 6 NCDA balls
Pinching allowed.
Headshots: guaranteed.
Cost: $200 per team
Prizes: Depends on number of teams, but probably about $500 (1st), $300 (2nd), $200 (3rd) for each event.
Number of guaranteed games: Probably at least 40. You will get your money's worth.

If you are interested in registering your team, talk to me on Facebook (Kelvin Koster, profile pic of dog with sunglasses on).
P.S.
A lot of people don't take dodgeball seriously. I've been to A LOT of terrible dodgeball tournaments that have been poorly run or absent of competition. This will not be one of those tournaments. You will be challenged and hopefully you will leave slightly less depressed about the prospect of life after college dodgeball.
Thanks,
Kelvin Koster
