MSU would probably need 3 rooms at Baymount Inn. We'd come on Friday and leave after games conclude on Sunday. I'd say one room because we're cheap, but i think last time we went to Kentucky (back in 2007) we crammed all 20 into one room, it was fun, but a lot of people were sore in the morning (Dom slept in the bathtub).

Central Michigan needs 3 rooms at the Baymount Inn. We are discussing at practice tomorrow what everyone wants, such as leaving time and day. Im assuming we will leave Friday morning and be there about dinner time. Then maybe some drinking should be in the mix eh?? lol But yea plan on CMU with 3 rooms right now and ill let you know when I get a forsure answer.

1 executive suite, comped of course. I also need a Bentley to get around in, though I'll settle for an Aston Martin in a pinch. Let me just reach into our endless funding and get that for you Mr Commissioner lol

Hey, we just had some recent developments with Nationals. I'm trying to make it a fundraiser event for The St. Jude Children's Hospital. After doing that tournament last year and raising over $1000, I wanted to do the same thing this year, but it would be hard to get the teams down here twice in the spring. This will also make it easier for me to find sponsors if it is not only a National Tournament, but a St Jude's fundraiser. This is a great charity that I believe deserves all the money it could possibly get, so we will just collect money from spectators, tshirt sales, and excess money we collect through sponsorships. Is everyone alright with this? If not, we'll figure something else out, maybe have a post-national-tournament-fundraiser or something.

Does anyone have any questions or concerns about Nationals this year? I don't want to leave anyone in the dark about anything. Please don't hesitate to ask questions because they may bring something up that I overlooked. Right now the biggest thing I am working on is getting sponsors.

Just thought I would let everyone know that my email address has changed due to WKU being a little retarded on their email server transfer date. Instead of felix.perrone311@wku.edu, it is now felix.perrone311@topper.wku.edu
All emails regarding team registration for nationals or podcast information should be sent to this new address when the time comes for that. Also we have our club email address which is also an option: wku.dodgeball@gmail.com

I have been trying all year to get the championship game to be played in our basketball arena (Diddle Arena), but I just got an email saying that it wasn't going to happen... Someone booked an event there for the same day that will make the university some money, so obviously, they get the priority haha.

Felix, did you guys get the group hotel rate yet? DePaul wants to book hotel real soon so we can reallocate the funding remainder to our rental car bill.

If you read earlier in the thread I put that the Baymount Inn was giving us a group rate of $59 per room per night. Right now I have Depaul marked down for 5 rooms, CMU for 3, MSU for 3, and GVSU for 4. Is that correct? If anyone else needs room at this rate please let me know SOON. The deadlines already passed, but I can definitely try to get you guys that same rate at the same place.
Also I can offer a few spots on the floor in my apartment, I can maybe fit 6 here. But our floor is carpet on top of cement, so just a fair warning it isn't really the definition of comfortable. I have a no drinking policy in my APT (especially during Nationals), so just a heads up on that lol.

-SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION- I am moving the registration dates for the national tournament. Priority registration will begin Monday March 7 and last until Sunday March 20 for the following teams: 2011 Host Team: WKU Final Four from 2010 National Tournament: GVSU, CMU, MSU, OSU 2011 Regular Season Champions: Will be decided based on points system on February 28, 2011 2011 Michigan Dodgeball Champions: TBD 2011 Ohio Dodgeball Champions: TBD 2011 Kentucky Dodgeball Champions: WKU The remaining spots will be up for bids starting on Monday March 21 and ending when we fill the 16th spot. There is a STRICT team limit at 16 for the tournament. Due to time constraints we can not accept more than 16 teams, it sucks, but it has to be that way. The open registration will be determined by post-marked dates rather than dates received, that way is it fair for everyone no matter how far away you are from WKU. I will be sending out the registration form for Nationals within the next week or two. Each team will need to include a check for $150, a rough roster, and tshirt sizes. If a post mark date on a registration letter is BEFORE the date in which you are allowed to register, (i.e. someone who doesn't qualify for priority registration has a post mark date before March 20) that team will have an additional four-day penalty. This just means that I not even consider your team for Nationals until March 25, which could potentially knock you out of the tournament if all 16 teams are filled by 11:59pm March 24. For those with priority registration I will not consider your team until March 11. Please don't put me in a terrible situation. Just have the $150 check cut sometime within the next few weeks, have it sitting there waiting until the deadline, then take it to the post office the first day of your registration so it can be post marked. If in the case of a tie (if I receive 30 letters with a March 21 post mark) some sort of random draw will occur. I actually have no idea what to do in this situation, so if I can get some input, that would be great. Any ideas? Also here is a link to some general information about the tournament ncdadodgeball.com/nationals_info.html

If you get 30 letters with a postmarked date of the 21st then maybe an idea would be to do a draft lottery kind of like the nba does. For example A team who has played 10 games gets 10 slips or something in the lottery. While someone who has played 3 games gets 3 slips. 0 games would have to = at least 1 slip to give them a chance.
Granted it may not seem fair to those who haven't played a game or played very few, but at the same time if a team like MSU, or SVSU, or even EMU has played 10 games and miss out on nationals at least they had the most chances in the "lottery" though it would seem a bit unfair if teams hitting double digit regular season games miss out on nationals...

If it comes down to getting them all on the same day because everyone wants in. Then base it off of how many games were played by each team. So the teams who went out and competed all year long aren't screwed by those who played none.
