They don't play NCDA rules. Totally new club. Still worth a shot.

Yeah, but it's easier of a change for them especially if they are already considered a club sport. What about some of those other teams? They should be easy to get into the league if they are already a club sport.

I was in talks with K-State last year about scheduling a game, but our low numbers caused that to fall through. However, I just looked up their president on Facebook and sent him a message offering to schedule a game and inviting them to come up and play when UK comes down. I sent him the link to the front page of the site, too, so hopefully we can add another team in. Also, I'm originally from Southern California, so I know people that go to schools throughout the state including UCLA, so I can talk to them and see if we can get a West coast dodgeball movement going as well.

I do like the idea of contacting teams from the NADA, and trying to get them to convert to our style of play. That could help grow our league exponentially.

I looked up most of those teams and the club sports list to see if they actually had a team. The only one that did was Kansas State. And I also send Mitch Pillar a message on facebook asking about joining our league.

Is there any interest from any Minnesota schools. I'm comtemplating starting a team at Bemidji State, but am not so sure about getting many games. Also, would it be possible to play some before the end of this season (before Nationals 2011)?

Is there any interest from any Minnesota schools. I'm comtemplating starting a team at Bemidji State, but am not so sure about getting many games. Also, would it be possible to play some before the end of this season (before Nationals 2011)? I'd personally like to have new teams at the CDO on Jan 30th - its one of DePaul's objectives to provide a nice little tourney to get more central teams competing. Or just playing dodgeball with rubber balls. We got some of the strong teams at the CDO as of now - notably WIU/BG/CMU. Check out our thread on it in the scheduling section. Also, DePaul's a great school to play against, we're not interested in beating up on you, more just facilitating this crazy sport. If you ever want to come down and scrimmage on a weekend or at one of our weekday dodgeball nights (mon/thurs), there's no facility charges. Just hit us up. Or we can organize a NCDA style match. Also also, DePaul endorses fun while playing dodgeball, and encourages every team to get wise and play their own way. For example, Kent State has some crazy chain rules, where one ball can get multiple people out before it hits the ground. And in DePaul Rules catches are not out, so it facilitates more throws, trick shots, and girls actually playing with the boys. Teams can reserve playing strict NCDA style for the tournaments and official matches. But just get them using legit rubber dodgeballs. They can have flowers and Dora the Explora on them, but just get them away from the crap that is foam. Foam dodgeballs are a cancer to this world.

Is there any interest of teams from Mid-Atlantic? I'm looking to start a big push for club dodgeball here at JMU. I was reading from another thread that Towson U in Baltimore, MD was looking to start a team, which would be a 3 hour drive, but from the teams I see in the league, it looks like the next closest would be Ohio State(6.5 hours) and UK(6.5 hours). I also heard that you got in contact with VMI? That would be a great opponent, 45 minutes down the road.

Towson for sure has a team i know its 3 hours but it is a team to play. Hopefully if you can get a team together you should come to Nationals...or maybe just watch it will be a great weekend to say the least.

I don't think distance is much of an issue for JMU, we are used to driving the distance to play teams being stuck in the middle-of-nowhere appalachian mountains, our closest schools are University of Virginia (45 min) VMI(45 min) and then the next closest would be over an hour away with Virginia Tech, and George Mason. So, a commute to Towson would be just fine.

I have a contact at George Mason I'm trying to get them to set something up there. Maryland also has a team.
