The following teams get the following All Star spots on the 60 man roster NCDA All Star Mens game. Kent St, GVSU, SVSU, UK get 5 spots each. MSU, JMU,OSU, MBI get 4 spots each. BGSU, CMU, DePaul, Miami, WKU, WIU, NSULA, and UWP get 3 each. Feel free to have your All Stars voted in by your team. Ladies and Gentlemen it's finally that time of year again! Two days of delicious Dodgeball madness! Time to destroy our bodies, in hopes for glory. Everyone have a safe drive, and as Hiller said, good luck!
NATIONALS (and America) f*** YEAH!

There's a mistake with the seedings for Sunday. Please check the Facebook group and make sure I didn't make a mistake, but I think our seed should be switched with DePaul's.

So what did you guys think? How was the atmosphere? Did you get to enjoy the carnival? How did you like the All Star and Nationals Shirts? How about the cost factor? Was this weekend really tight on your budgets? Or did the cheap hotels and other factors help lower the cost? Did the girls enjoy having their own all star game?

We didn't really go to the carnival at all, we just wanted to lay down during our breaks from games, but I do regret that though because I really like elephant ears haha.
The tshirts were awesome, I loved the designs. We had one of my guys going around trying to buy an All Star shirt off people all tournament because he liked them so much haha. The only thing I didn't particularly like about the All-Star game was that there really wasn't a competitive edge like last year. I feel like people didn't really care about it since they didn't have a side to root for. Last year when it was Michigan vs The World, I thought people were more into it.
The cost was very reasonable! I got 5 hotel rooms for 2 nights for $661.50
The biggest cost for us was gas obviously. We spent around $860 total on all four cars for gas.
I enjoyed watching the girls game. When did dodgeball girls get so good looking? Am I right guys? haha

You really think they'll go for that touch of gray you got goin on McCarthy? ;D Haha for real though, I thought nationals was put together very well this year, I was definitely glad it was only a 45 minute drive this year instead of the 9 hour drive from last year haha, though I hear were going back down to Kentucky next April! oh well i'll get over it lol. There weren't any serious injuries this year were there? ..Besides the few painful looking nutshots Bomis and a JMU kid took right? lololol The only thing was the All-Star game, as Felix said. Nobody seemed to really be into it like they were when it was Michigan vs. The World. Last year's all-star game it seemed like everybody wanted to go prove their side was the best, and they had a metaphorical banner to rally around you know? Oh, and losing sucked as well

My thoughts:
Pros: -We were basically on time on Sunday/second half of Sunday. I'm sure it was nice for the teams who had longer drives than our hour drive back home. -The Captain's Meeting was really short, and we got through things fast without endlessly debating the same things in a circle like in years past. -Courts C&D were really nice for Saturday. -The Girls Game was kinda cool for our girls who got to play. -The quarterfinals and semifinals between the Michigan teams were really great games.
Cons: -All Star Game was kinda lame. I think Michigan vs the World would have been better still. Or something along those lines. We had all our players play in the first half, and after that we had no one to root for in the second half so it was a little boring. -Teams not showing up/forfeiting really early on Day 2. If you're going to commit to something, you should commit to something. And if you're getting beat, you should stick it out. My team was down 3-0 to eventual champion SVSU at halftime and made a heck of a game out of it. Sure you might not get the win, but you find out a lot about your players if you stick it out. -More alumni refs. There should be two head refs and two counters (that stay) per court. We played the quarterfinal match against SVSU with only one ref and we had about 7 or 8 different counters because people kept switching in and out. -The bracket stunk for Day 2, but that's not something that was the fault of anyone but ourselves (MSU) and CMU. If we would have taken care of business against JMU and CMU would have played a couple more games then the bracket would have been a little more balanced. -Not having the Cardinal Gym (also not anyone's fault) for the semis. I LOVE playing there. Other than our home court it's my favorite place to play/watch dodgeball.
To answer your questions Spencer: 1. Atmosphere was less than I expected, compared to my previous experiences at SVSU. However, I attribute that to two things: 1. That you didn't have the Cardinal Gym, because this gym was so big you couldn't really hear the fans while you were on the court. 2. That the tournament was so long you couldn't just say "Be there from 9am-6pm" because nobody's gonna sit there for 4 games. 2. Didn't go to the carnival. 3. Shirts were pretty legit 4. I don't deal with the costs but it was definitely worth whatever we paid. 5. It wasn't that tight but we only had a 1 hour drive. 6. Our girls really enjoyed the All-Girls Game.

We had a great time. It was a great time meeting all of you guys, and we hope to see you all next year. We thought SVSU was more than accommodating for what we had in mind, you guys did a great job!
We have a solid line-up of girls, not all of them could make it this time around hahaha

It was great meeting you too Chris! But come on, you need to bring the entire-line up next year. lmao
By the way, I hope everyone realizes what JMU did this weekend. They are going to be a SERIOUS team to deal with in the future!

If CMU gets JMU to play in a match at CMU, im definitely going to play one last farewell game against them. My only regret of nationals was not being able to play them.
