Seriously, I was INCREDIBLY impressed with how well JMU played and how good you guys were. Just the fact that you all knew how to counter well, block together against team throws in the corners, shadowing well, and the fact that you guys had some good catchers and several really strong arms was impressive. (not to mention upsetting MSU!)
You guys made a HUGEE splash for a first year team in the league!

I think the national Championship game should really make you reconsider how the brackets are worked for next year. It was not the best two teams in the league playing for a title. A team that quits in the middle of a game not once, but twice in a tournament doesn't deserve it! Maybe go by rankings from previous years, then head up play, and then overall records...Doesn't really matter to me because I'm graduating but I still love this sport.

We here at MSU (and by we, I mean one of my players haha) are working on making a webpage formula thing that would essentially be a RPI program (if you don't know what RPI is, it's basically a mathematical formula that express how good a college basketball team is fairly and without bias) and we think it'd be a good alternative to using the standings. I agree with you Josh that the way the bracket worked out wasn't ideal, no offense to the other schools. It's up to Zac how they do the bracket for next year, but we'll make the RPI in case they want it and if they don't, well it'll just be a cool alternative for people to look at.

Maybe go by rankings from previous years, then head up play, and then overall records...Doesn't really matter to me because I'm graduating but I still love this sport. I'd have to agree. I feel like there should be some sort of power rankings system we go by and not just overall record from the regular season... and what if we tried out a double elimination style tournament so that every game the entire weekend counted for something, instead of just playing saturday as the fun day, more or less. And that's not to say that teams would come and possibly only play 2 games, because we could set up a consolation bracket of sorts for all the teams that got completely eliminated by saturday. Because to be honest, I feel like, at least for CMU, we looked at Saturday as a day where the only objective (besides securing the wins as quickly as possible), is to NOT throw your arm out before the actual tournament on sunday.. A style of tournament like this would create excitement for the entire weekend. I'm sure i'm not the first to suggest a tournament style like this, but I do think overhauling the way we run the tournament for nationals should be legitimately and seriously considered.

Well there you go lol. RPI = Power Rankings I vote this Sam. haha

Thanks to everyone for the feed back, it means a lot to me and Lindsay to hear that the tournament went so smoothly. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts for attending, I know we wont forget this weekend for the rest of our lives. I'm very happy to have met and played with so many of you in my 5 years of dodgeball.

I can speak for myself Spencer It really does mean a lot that you guys enjoyed yourselves at the tournament and that you thought everything ran smoothly. From an administrative view off the court, I felt like everything was a mess, haha, but I had nothing to do but sit and think about what was wrong. Many memories and friends were made; truly an unforgettable weekend. It's weird being in the gym without all those dodgeballers walking around. Thank you all so much for coming and giving your all. It was a great season and tournament. I have one year left with this sport, and I'm stoked to get it started. The best part? I'll actually get to sit back and enjoy Nationals, haha. How many days until the season starts?

I really enjoyed the material of the shirts this year. All-star shirt was really cool. Cant say the same thing about having the state of Michigan outlined on my right chest but that's just from being from Ohio. However I did like how dodgeball and nationals ran vertically on the side.

Standouts from the Girls game, and I don't mean to brag, but I noticed a lot of the SVSU girls who picked up a majority of their teams kills. GVSU girls were also impressive, as well as NSU girls who were incredibly aggressive with their countering. Over all it was a fun game to watch
