Just a heads up. All attending team captains have been emailed all of the information that they'll need for this event. I will be arriving at AIM High in Dimondale, MI around 10:15 or 10:30am for setup. Tentative Schedule:10:15-10:30am- I will arrive for setup. 11am- Visiting teams arrive 11:30am (at latest)- Captains meeting 12pm (at latest)- games begin... POOL AMSU, DePaul, BGSU POOL BWIU, EMU, UK Five rounds of play. Times are approximate, and I assume we will begin prior to noon. Noon is the absolute latest start time. We may bump games to two 20 minute halves. I have 70 minutes allowed per round. This should allow for two 25 minute halves, a five minute intermission, and allows for clock stop time. ROUND 1 (12-1:10)Court 1MSU v DePaul Court 2WIU v EMU ROUND 2 (1:10- 2:20)Court 1MSU v BGSU Court 2WIU v UK ROUND 3 (2:20-3:30)COURT 1DePaul v BGSU Court 2UK v EMU ROUND 4 (3:30-4:40)COURT 11-1 pool A v 1-1 pool B Court 20-2 pool A v 0-2 pool B ROUND 5 (4:40- end)2-0 pool A v 2-0 pool B Tournament should end by 6pm, but we are allowed to go over if we need to. The times I give are just a model to try and follow. Running over isn't a huge deal. I have also emailed out a complete 2010-2011 Rules packet to all of the team captains to make sure their teams are well versed in the rules, especially the newly updated ones. This packet was sent to me by Bomis earlier today, so yes, it is THE most up to date and offical rule book. Teams have been repeatedly told to use the AIM High website to map their trip as it has a link to do this. www.aimhighsports.com/I'm assuming teams have all taken care of their own hotels since no one besides UK ever asked me much about them. Teams should all be aware that there's a $40 fee. Cash works, if you wanna write a check make it out to either me, or to MSU Dodgeball (I don't care which you do). Basically what I'm saying is- there is no excuse for a drop out at this point. I don't anticipate anyone dropping out, just using this as a fail safe. All of the info other teams that are attending need to attend this tournament is available to them. All team captains also have my email address and have been told to get ahold of me if they have questions or issues. childsia@msu.edu (just in case) Other than that I totally expect a great tournament and I'm really looking forward to it!

Also a big shout out to the guys form GVSU and CMU who came and helped ref. They were a huge help. Also thanks to K Fitz from KSU for coming to watch the tournament even though they were unable to field a team.
HUGE thanks to Aleks Bomis for coming out and head reffing. He helped me run a smooth tournament as far as I'm concerned, we did run 90 minutes over our time limit, but I think the tourney went really well overall.
I gotta say EMU is a vastly improved team from last year, and the same goes for BGSU. DePaul was a pleasure as always and UK were some of the nicest most laid back guys there even though we didn't play them. WIU is gonna be a huge threat come nationals so teams need to be on the watch for them too. When they've got their top 20 on a roster it should be very interesting.
Individual effort of the day goes to DePaul's #55 (sorry I don't remember his name). He basically went 1 on 8 with EMU for almost 10 minutes, pulled in some of the most ridiculous catches I've seen in a long time and is the reason DePaul won that point in particular. The guy was an absolute machine.

Few personal things to say,
thanks to everyone who came out tonight, even people who's team weren't in the tourney (sweetums, pat, fitz, the GVSU boys).
#55 from Depaul definitely played out of his mind, great performance by him. #1 from UK is definitely the real deal, he may not be the strongest thrower in the league but he's definitely got a cannon. BGSU and EMU are both way improved and both could surprise some people this year.
Also big ups to Ian "Best Catcher in the NCDA" Childs who not only put on a heck of a tournament, but I think he also got what may have been his first ever catch in an actual game.

Hahahaha, Ian can't catch? I thought he was a fine catcher. Lol. We have a couple people who still don't have a catch in a game, and they have been around for 3 years. Haha
