all in all i thought it was a great tourny. out of all the ones i have been to in my career i can say that this one had the least amount of problems with reffing. i thought the stop watches were a great thing and seemed to work real well. for my team i thought we played really well despite what the scores may tell you, and we had a ton of fun doing it. which is all we care about anyways. all the teams we played against were great. and i was quite a joy to be able to play against msu again and to be able to play emu for the first time, as ziggy said you guys better make it out to the cdo for a rematch.
as always ignore my horrible spelling

The WIU guys were awesome to play against. Very competitive group that wants to win games and I can tell they'd be really fun to hang out with off the court. They definitely kept me entertained with some hilarious texts while they hit the bars in Lansing that night. Next time you guys come here you'll need to hit the EL bars with me. I was up to the usual- spending way too much money and buying shots for everyone. Not as bad as my $270 tab on Thursday night of Halloween week (and that's after my huge employee discount because I work at the bar, so I dont even wanna know what it would've been if I didn't work there) but you woulda enjoyed it regardless. Ha we had a good time too, maybe a little too much haha... As far as the games go, MSU of course did an awesome job of setting up the tourney, and I'm glad everyone brought a full roster. EMU is a whole new team, and really caught us off guard. UK has some smart players, but if they play together more they could improve quite a bit. As far as the championship goes, MSU outclassed us in every way, and really opened some of our eyes. I think when we got stomped in the first game a lot of our guys just got too passive and were playing afraid. We have a looooong way to go... And the texts were all true - #5 from WIU is still havin dreams about Ebony, because he really fell in love with a stripper.

From an officials view, it did look like you gave up after losing one point. CMU did a similar thing against GV last year. We lost two points and our captain and we just fell apart. Taught us a lesson, made us better as a team and came back to beat them the next time we played. Did you end up going to DejaVu or something? They brought in one of Tigers mistresses over the summer, but unfortunately i didnt get to see the 'lady who had the tiger in her tank.' (Yes, the radio actually used that in their promotions.)

From an officials view, it did look like you gave up after losing one point. In WIU's defense, I have never seen MSU play that opportunistic before. If that becomes the status quo, State is in for a very good year. I kind of gave an epic pregame speech that everyone responded to really well. I thought about a solid pregame booster speech for a few days before the tournament and came up with one I knew my guys would love. I kind of wanted to post the whole thing on here but I wasn't sure how appropriate it was... Sadly I didn't even give the whole speech because they started reacting to it right away lol MSU is in for a solid year if we clean up our play. We didn't play anywhere near our potential. I screamed myself hoarse and wanted to smack a few of my guys, especially during the BGSU game. I nearly had an ulcer because we played so bad lol. I'm glad we were able to begin 3-0, but since our next two games are against SVSU and CMU, we can't really enjoy the feeling for too long. Back to work.

I really hope you can back up your comment. What team would you be from? Number would help too.
Ian, please tell me you said, "This is Sparta" at least once in your speech.

Those speeches are the best. When every other word is a swear word. And everyone gets all jacked up. Those are awesome.

Yeah, because how could any speech that doesnt involve swear words and 'this is sparta' pump anyone up?

i can attest that there was a minimum amount of cursing and that there was definitely no this is sparta in the pregame speech. but the speech was awesome.
